2023 Gubernatorial Elections: APC Leads With 11 States Results Announced

The All Progressives Congress Party is leading in the 2023 Gubernatorial elections results announced across the country.

 

Out of 10 States announced so far, the APC clinched Lagos, Ogun, Yobe, Gombe, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kwara and Katsina. 

 

The People’s Democratic Party won in Akwa Ibom and Oyo States as more results are expected today.

 

Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos (APC), Seyi Makinde, Oyo (PDP), Mai Mala Buni, Yobe (APC), Inuwa Yahaya, Gombe (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun (APC), and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Kwara (APC) have been re-elected.

 

Sokoto State currently governed by Rt. Hon Aminu Tambuwal of the People’s Democratic Party, witnessed an upset as the All Progressives Congress through its candidate Ahmed Aliyu emerged the winner.

 

Also, Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in another upset emerged the winner of the Kano Gubernatorial elections. The North-West state is currently governed by Governor Umar Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress.

 

Results from 19 States are still being awaited to round up proceedings from the 2023 Gubernatorial elections.

 

On Saturday March 18th 2023 Gubernatorial/House of Assembly elections were conducted in 29 States by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC with reports of low voters turnout, violence and allegations of voter suppression.
