The COVID-19 pandemic has hit Nigeria when the economy was gradually recovering from the 2016 recession and, together with the sharp drop in oil prices, lockdowns, restriction of movement and disruptions to production and supply chains, it is having a knock-on effect on the Nigerian economy.
