INEC Schedules April 15th 2023 for Supplementary Gubernatorial Elections in Adamawa, Kebbi States

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Saturday April 15th, 2023 as the date for the supplementary Gubernatorial elections in Adamawa and Kebbi states.

 

It will be recalled that both states had their March 18th, 2023 respective election results declared as inconclusive by INEC . 

 

In Kebbi state, collated results showed that the All-Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Mr. Nasir Idris was in the lead with 388,258 votes, while his closest challenger, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Major-General Mohammed Bande, (Rtd) garnered 342,980 votes.

 

For Adamawa state the incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP polled 421,524 votes while Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed the candidate of the APC scored 390,275 votes.

 

INEC will also from Wednesday March 29th to Friday March 31st, 2023 issue certificates of return to the 26 Governors-elect and their Deputies. 

 

This will be done at the various states and performed by the State Resident Electoral Commissioners.

 

Out of the 26 state Gubernatorial results announced, the APC clinched 15 followed by the PDP with 9, while the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have 1 state each.
