Nigerian Equities Market closed positive as the key market indicator advanced by 31.43 bps amid negative market breadth.
The NGX All-Share Index advanced by 0.06% to close at 54,936.11 basis points as against 0.03% gain recorded previously to close at 54886.04 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N17.13bn gain.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +7.19%.
The total volume traded advanced by 5.01% to close at N134.15m, valued at N1.33bn and traded in 2478 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with 28.12m units traded while GTCO was the most traded stock by value which is put at N366.90m.
Sectoral performance was broadly positive as eight (8) NGX sectors index closed northward, three (3) sectors index closed southward and seven (7) closed flat. The NGX AFRBVI index advanced by 0.68% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX Food and Beverages Index declined by 0.02% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index closed flat at 150.56 basis points while the Toni index declined by 0.26% to close at 117.19 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 9 gainers to 14 losers and 78 unchanged. GTCO topped the list of gainers while NCR topped the list of losers.
Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.06x.
