Nigerian Equities Market closed positive as the key market indicator inched up by 214.97 bps amid positive market breadth.
The NGX All-Share Index inched up by 0.40% to close at 54,213.09 basis points as against 0.93% gain recorded previously to close at 53,998.12 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N117.09bn gain.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +5.78%
The total volume traded declined by 90.66% to close at N268.02m, valued at N2.35bn and traded in 4,017 deals. UNIVINSURE was the most traded stock by volume with 63.36m units traded while GTCO was the most traded stock by value which is put at N522.21m
Sectoral performance was broadly positive as fourteen (14) NGX sector index closed northward, one (1) sector index closed southward and four (4) closed flat. The NGXMERIVAL index advanced by 1.31% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX Food and Beverages index declined by 0.39% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index advanced by 0.02% to close at 139.51 basis points while the Toni index advanced by 2.24% to close at 125.22 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 35 gainers to 10 losers and 71 unchanged. FTNCOCOA topped the list of gainers while IKEJAHOTEL topped the list of losers.
Thus, market breadth closed positive as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at 0.35x.
