1. EQUITIES MARKET 

 

Nigerian Equities Market closed in the negative territory as the key market indicator dipped by 51.79bps amid negative market breadth.

 

The NGX All-Share Index dipped by 0.10% to close at 49,575.93 basis points as against flat position recorded previously to close at 49,627.72 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records N27.93bn loss.

 

YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +16.06% 

The total volume traded advanced by +23.22% to close at 197.46m, valued at N2.94bn and traded in 3,462 deals. COURTVILLE was the most traded stock by volume with 87.14m units traded while NESTLE   was also the most traded stock by value which is put at N1.63bn. 

Sectoral performance was broadly negative as zero (0) NGX sector index closed northward, thirteen (13) closed southward while five (5) closed flat. The NGX Banking Index dipped by 1.32% to top the losers’ chart.

Gote index closed flat at 128.42 basis points while Toni index declined by 0.70% to close at 109.29 basis points.

At the close of trading, market recorded 13 gainers to 17 losers and 68 unchanged. REGALINS topped the list of gainers while FTNCOCOA topped the list of losers. 

Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.06x.

 

Volume and Value Contribution

COURTVILLE led the volume’s chart with 44.13% contribution and closely followed by ZENITHBANK and GTCO

 

NESTLE tops the value’s chart with 55.33% contribution and closely followed by ZENITHBANK and GTCO

Gold recorded 0.03% gain while Silver also advanced by 1.39% as of 11:45 NY time

 

In the energy market, Brent advanced by 2.45% while WTI also advanced by 1.72% as of 10:46 AM Central Daylight Time (CDT)



 

 

The naira depreciated by 0.11% to close at the I&E FX Window at N436.50/USD while the NAFEX rate appreciated by 0.05% to close at N435.50
