The United Nations’ Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Day was set aside by the United Nations General Assembly to be commemorated annually on the 27th of June. This celebration aims to bring global focus on the role micro, small and medium enterprises play in the global economy and their contributions to poverty alleviation worldwide, while also working towards the attainment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. 

Leapworld Limited has been joining the United Nations, MSMEs, and relevant stakeholders worldwide to celebrate the United Nations MSME Day since 2018. Leapworld in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade & Investment (FMITI), the Special Assistant to the Vice President on MSMEs, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), business membership organizations, and other stakeholders in the MSME ecosystem pulled off a highly impactful event, commemorating the 2020, and 2021 UN MSME Day.

This year, Leapworld plans to have a virtual commemoration of the 2022 UN MSME Day on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 11:00AM. This program would be an interactive one, bringing to light the effects of recently passed laws on small businesses, real challenges facing MSMEs, and proffering solutions to these problems. The program will also feature the unveiling of a research work on the MSME sector and, Leapworld’s MSME magazine called the Entrepreneur’s Footprints.
