In what will be his final budget presentation to the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari has picked Friday, October 7^th, 2022, for its presentation.

The Senate President Dr. Ahmad Lawan disclosed this while reading the content of a letter from the President, before the commencement of the October 4^th, 2022 plenary session.

A total budget of N19.76trn is to be presented before the joint session of the National Assembly at the temporary chamber of the House of Representatives by 10.00am on the set date.

The timing of the presentation at the first week of October is part of efforts to sustain the January to December budget cycle, giving the National Assembly ample time to approve the appropriation bill for signing.

This is also a budget that will not be fully implemented by the President, as he will be stepping down from office on May 29^th, 2023 following the conduct of the 2023 general elections.
