Since 2009 when the Boko Haram insurgency took a terrorist dimension in Borno State, over 100,000 lives have been lost, valuable assets destroyed, schools closed just until recently and economic activities halted in a strategic agro-based economy.

With renewed efforts of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Kashim Shettima, the road to rebuilding and reconstructing Borno State is underway, regaining its lost economic value and relevance in the nation.

At the 22nd Nigeria economic summit, Governor Shettima shared how his administration at the state level is repositioning Borno, outlining key initiatives and projects being embarked upon by his government.
