The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council leadership (PEBEC) recently met with the board chairman, key Investors, and management team members to discuss ways to improve the business climate and support the agri-business value chain.

It was an opportunity to assess the strides of Okomu Oil Palm, a PEBEC Platinum Business Champion, and to explore ways to navigate the existential challenges peculiar to its industry. 

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Special Adviser to the President on PEBEC and Investment, discussed key strategies to accelerate Okomu Oil Palm's activities as a pacesetter in the agribusiness value chain.

The session included the MD/CEO of Okomu Oil Palm, Dr. Graham Hefer, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Gbenga Oyebode, MFR. 

The PEBEC Business Champions Program focused on directly supporting Nigeria’s premium companies, thereby increasing the economy's productivity and competitiveness.

Okomu Oil Palm is a key player in the Food/ Agro-processing industry. It is a sustainable palm oil and rubber producer focusing on responsible tropical agriculture.

Earlier in the week, PEBEC announced that the Federal Government has approved the extension of the 90-day regulatory reform accelerator has been extended for another 30 days. 

This is based on improved performance by Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, which will allow them deliver outstanding reforms, further impacting productivity and competitiveness.
